Kotin, Crabtree & Strong, LLP is one of the few firms in Massachusetts with a major area of practice devoted to ensuring the educational rights of disabled children and the legal rights of adults with disabilities.

This practice grew out of the landmark work of partners Lawrence Kotin and Robert Crabtree. These two attorneys worked on the Massachusetts legislation and regulations establishing the rights of children with disabilities and were instrumental in the passage of that legislation in 1972.

Today the firm represents hundreds of families each year from all areas of Massachusetts who are involved in special education proceedings at local and state levels and in the state and federal court systems. The firm also represents several private, not-for-profit schools and advocacy organizations for children and adults with disabilities.

In the more general area of education law at the pre-school, elementary, secondary and higher education levels, we represent private schools, colleges and universities, educational research and service organizations, students and employees in a wide range of legal matters. We also provide representation and legal counseling in matters relating to the Americans With Disabilities Act and other laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability.
